The posts under the SSC CHSL (10+2) exam include Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator posts. SSC will select and recommend candidates for Assistant / Clerk posts through a computer-based test, and skill test or typing test.
There are 3 important eligibility criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be eligible for the SSC CHSL exam. The 3 parameters are given below:
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
The age limit for the SSC CHSL posts is 18-27 years. Candidates born not before 02-01-1999 and not later than 01-01-2008 are eligible to apply. Permissible relaxation in the upper age limit for different categories is as below:
For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture and Staff Selection Commission: The candidates who are planning to appear in the CHSL exam must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Candidates can attempt the SSC CHSL (10+2) Exam multiple times as long as they fall within the age limit, which varies by category:
There is no fixed number of attempts for SSC CHSL Examination.
• The required application fee for the General Category for SSC CHSL is Rs. 100/-

SSC has revised SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern and released the updated syllabus which has been detailed below-
Tier-II will include the following three sections, having two modules each:
