The category-wise fee structure for the SBI Clerk online application is given below. The application fee for the SBI Clerk exam is Rs. 750/- for the General/OBC/EWS category and NIL for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category (as per the notification).

Fee/Intimation charges once paid will NOT be refunded on any account, nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. The application fee must be paid online.

SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) Selection Procedure

For selection to the Clerical Cadre through the SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) exam, candidates are selected through:

  1. SBI Clerk Prelims
  2. SBI Clerk Mains
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

All candidates must clear both exam phases to secure the appointment letter from SBI. There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer / Inter State Transfer for Junior Associates.

Note: Trained apprentices of SBI may be given weightage in the Main Examination by awarding 2.5% of the maximum marks (i.e. 5 marks out of 200) as bonus marks.

SBI Clerk Salary & Pay Scale

The starting salary of the SBI Clerk is around Rs. 46,000 and the pay scale is:

The starting Basic Pay is Rs. 26,730/- (Rs. 24,050/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).

The eligibility criteria of the SBI Clerk exam are mainly based on two pre-requisites: Educational Qualification and Age Limit.

SBI Clerk Educational Qualifications

The candidate must hold a valid graduation degree (UG) in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificates should ensure that the date of passing the IDD meets the eligibility requirements.

Note: Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation may also apply. If provisionally selected, they will be required to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination.

  • Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned in the exam pattern.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • No minimum qualifying marks for the individual subjects as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed.
  • An adequate number of candidates in each category (approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on aggregate marks in descending order.

  3. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation is available).
  4. Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
  5. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed.
  6. Merit list will be drawn State-wise and category-wise.
  7. Candidates qualified in the mains exam will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.

SBI Clerk Selection

The State Bank of India conducts a multi-stage selection process for SBI Clerk recruitment. To get selected for the SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) post, candidates need to qualify in both online tests: Prelims and Mains, followed by LLPT.

The Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) is qualifying in nature. The marks scored in the Mains exam will be counted for the final selection.
